Winterlude in Ottawa is a Canadian right of passage, from ice sculptures to beaver tails and, of course, skating on the Rideau Canal.
To encourage its guests to take advantage of the opportunity to get out on Canada’s longest outdoor skating rink, The Westin Ottawa is offering guided scenic skates led by its own “skate concierge.” The free activity covers two to five kilometres along the canal and concludes with hot chocolate back at the hotel.
Skate rentals ($5.95 for a full day) are also available, meaning guests can leave their blades at home.
The SkateWESTIN program will be in effect from Feb. 3 to March 31 and is suited to families and guests of all ages.
